About Brazil Estavam Mario Natural
Arrived June 2026, in Grainpro bags.
Some of the best coffee farms in Brazil are located in Minas Gerais and more specifically in the South of Minas, in and around the city of Carmo da Cachoeira. This is a very small lot of coffee produced by Estevam Mario on his Fazenda Nossa Senhora Aparecida.
This coffee is a direct import. I was cupped, along with a number of other prominent coffees, a few months ago when the coffee was still in Brazil. At the time, very little coffee was being imported here because there were steep tariffs on all coffee, with additional tariff on Brazil in particular. But tariffs on coffee ended completely soon after, and coffee exports commenced again. The coffee has finally arrived in the US

Cup Characteristics: Almond and Macadamia aromas. Flavors of fig, prune, tamarind and hazelnut. Earthy body and well structured with a smooth, long finish.
Roasting Notes: Coffees from these altitudes, while relatively high for Brazil, produce somewhat softer beans than other higher origins. Thus, slower roasts can be done. This coffee will produce earthy body and is a great candidate for single origin espresso. We advise pulling the roast before second crack has commenced, or just at its start.
