This generic goldfilter offers the same benefits as the name brands but with a much lower price tag. Goldfilters allow very slight sediment to pass through to the brew, as well as Coffeol, an oil present in roasted coffee that carries volatile, essential flavors. Goldfilters use a very slightly larger grind than paper filtration. One of the main benefits is the re-usability and waste reduction realized. A goldfilter can be used many hundreds of times, even thousands if cared for properly.

We found this goldfilter virtually identical to the brand name. To our eyes it looked as though the name brand and this generic came off the same manufacturing line, and only received different boxes. Do you see a difference - we don't.
