Malawi AA Mapanga Estate

The Mapanga Coffee Estate has about 650 acres of coffee located at around 4,000 foot altitude in the Tea growing areas of the Southern Highlands of Malawi, and is recognized as being a "model" premium coffee estate. The Mapanga Coffee Estate was originally established as a local coffee training farm by the British Government's Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), with excellent coffee farming, processing and conditioning/storage facilities, etc. Mapanga coffee estate was managed from the early 1990's as a working coffee estate, to train local Malawi coffee farmers. Around 2002, and because of a change by the British Government in their business and technical assistance program in Africa, the CDC sold the Mapanga coffee estate to a local Malawi tea estate owner, who we are happy to say are maintaining the quality, consistency and high reputation this excellent coffee estate enjoys.

Cup characteristics:This coffee is renowned for its smooth medium acidity, slightly fruity, berry-like flavor, and excellent body.
