Honduras Finca El Roblon

Coffee from Honduras has vastly improved over the past few years and Finca El Roblon is an excellent case in point. It is grown on a very small farm (finca) owned by Patricio Ramos in the Lempira district of Honduras. The area is quite remote (in fact, there are no telephones). Grown at an altitude of about 5000 feet, this coffee was a runner up in the Cup of Excellence cuppings held earlier this year. We were lucky enough to procure just a few bags of the coffee, so it won’t be around long.

Cup Characteristics:Less acidy that most other Central American coffees, Finca El Roblon is a clean cup, possessing medium/full body and a distinctive sweetness.

Comments

The country was devastated by Hurricane Mitch in 1998, which killed about 5,600 people and caused approximately $2 billion in damage. Honduras has made major strides in elevating coffee quality in recent years.
