Brew Thru Lid

What is the advantage or purpose of the Brew Thru Lid? What's the difference between it and the regular lid?

We have been using the Brew Thru Lid for several months. The main advantage is that it keeps the brewed coffee hotter. The smaller opening and long, tapered funnel minimize heat loss. Also, there is no need to remove it after brewing as it allows cups to be poured while still in place. Hope this helps, coffeeguy.
