Costa Rica Doka Estate

Single estate coffee grown in San Isidro region in Costa Rica's Central Valley. The farm is situated near the Vulcan Paos (Paos Volcano) the world's largest volcanic crater. This single plantation is under the ownership of Rodrigo Vargas, a member of the coffee pioneering Vargas family that settled this area. The family constructed their own wet mill, or beneficio, which became operative in 1960. All coffee is grown, processed, sun dried and milled by the family so there is complete control of the coffee from start to finish. This coffee was the winner of the Sintercafe Cup Competition in 2000 - judging it the best coffee in Costa Rica!

The Vargas's dedication, along with Doka's rich volcanic soils and dry cool nights, combine to give this coffee a very deep and complex flavor. This is a sweet cupping, smooth coffee with pronounced acidity.

Cup Characteristics:Doka is an extremely well balanced coffee possessing complex, refined flavor notes. It is medium/heavy in body with delicate sweetness and pleasant acidity. Costa Rica Doka Estate is truly a multifaceted, complete coffee.
